What we do know is that Covid disease is much more severe in pregnant women, and there's a higher risk of them needing to be admitted to hospital or even going to the intensive care unit or even delivering their baby early.

So the Pfizer vaccine is currently recommended at any stage in pregnancy, and it has been shown to be safe and effective.

And the Covid-19 vaccines are also recommended for women who are trying Covid-19 to get pregnant again because we don't want them to be at higher risk of Covid illness when they do fall pregnant.
